This striking linocut print is based on an Aesop's Fable:
'The quarrelling birds challenged themselves to a competition...who could fly the highest? As the huge flock ascended, most began to tire or lose their nerve, only formidable Eagle remained. At the moment before victory, tiny Wren emerged from his hiding place in Eagles feathers, and flew the highest to claim his title as King of the Birds. Clever Wren had outwitted powerful Eagle.'

A limited edition of only 10 prints, this design is made up of around 70 hand carved bird silhouettes. A lustrous base layer in silver metallic ink and second overlay of rich brown tones, printed on 145gsm archival Hereford paper.
Each pressing is totally unique due to its hand printed, artisan production method.
The paper measures 28.5cm x 38cm approximately (slightly smaller than A3), and is sold unmounted and unframed.
